The short version: Mr.Road helps you look up traffic challans from official portals. We are an independent third-party app, not a government service. We don't process payments — they go to the official portal. We don't sell your data. You can stop using the app or delete your account any time.
1.Who we are
Mr.Road is operated by Citizen Apps, an Indian proprietorship. The app was previously known as e-Challan / Traffic e-Challan; the name changed in May 2026 but the publisher, the codebase, and the relationship with you have not. We are not affiliated with the Government of India, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, any state RTO, the Parivahan portal, or any government entity.
2.What Mr.Road does (and doesn't do)
Mr.Road is an information and convenience tool that:
- Helps you look up traffic challans by vehicle number, using publicly available data from official portals.
- Lets you save vehicles in a private garage so you don't have to retype them.
- Redirects you to the official RTO portal when you want to pay a challan.
- Shows you photos and details of each challan as returned by the official portal.
Mr.Road does not:
- Process payments. Money never touches our servers. All payments go to the official RTO / Parivahan portal directly.
- Issue, modify, withdraw, or dispute challans. We are not the issuing authority. Disputes must go to the relevant traffic department.
- Guarantee that information shown is up-to-date or complete. Source portals sometimes have outdated or missing data.
- Maintain a database of vehicle records. Every lookup happens at your request.
3.Your account
- You may use Mr.Road without creating an account for some features. For features like saving vehicles, payment history, and the eventual Premium tier, sign-in with a phone OTP is required.
- You are responsible for keeping your phone (and therefore your OTP-verified session) secure.
- You confirm you are at least 18 years old. Mr.Road is not for minors.
- One person, one account. Don't share your account with others.
4.Your responsibilities when using Mr.Road
When you use Mr.Road, you agree to:
- Only look up vehicles you own, are responsible for, or have explicit permission to check.
- Not use the app to harass, stalk, or harm anyone.
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or programmatically extract data from the app.
- Not use the app for any illegal purpose under Indian law.
- Comply with the terms of any third-party services we redirect you to (Parivahan, state RTO portals, etc.).
5.Data accuracy disclaimer
Mr.Road shows information sourced from official portals (Parivahan, state e-Challan websites, and licensed data providers). We pass through what those portals return. We do not modify or curate the data. Source portals occasionally have:
- Out-of-date challan records (challans issued recently may not appear immediately).
- Errors in vehicle or owner details.
- Downtime that causes lookups to fail.
We are not responsible for inaccuracies in source data. For anything that affects a legal matter, please verify directly with the issuing authority before acting.
6.Payments
When you tap "Pay" on a challan, the app opens the official RTO / Parivahan portal in a browser or in-app web view. The payment is processed entirely by that portal — not by us. We don't see your card number, UPI ID, banking credentials, or payment status. If a payment fails or is disputed, please contact the issuing RTO or your bank directly. We will help with technical issues but cannot intervene in the payment itself.
7.Advertisements
The free version of Mr.Road shows ads served by Google AdMob. Ads fund the app and are necessary for us to keep it free. You can remove ads by subscribing to Mr.Road Premium (planned for a future version). For details on how ads work, see our Privacy Policy, section 6.
8.Intellectual property
- The Mr.Road name, logo, app design, and code are owned by Citizen Apps.
- Data shown about your vehicles or challans is owned by the issuing government authority. We are an intermediary; we don't claim ownership of that data.
- You may not copy, modify, redistribute, or commercially exploit the app's code or design without our written permission.
9.Termination
- You can stop using Mr.Road any time. Uninstall the app or delete your account via /delete-account.
- We can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, especially if you use the app to harm others or for illegal purposes.
- If we suspend you, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to respond. Final decisions in cases of policy violation rest with us.
10.Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law:
- Mr.Road is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.
- We are not liable for losses arising from inaccurate source-portal data, downtime, failed payments routed to external portals, or your reliance on the app for legal matters.
- Our total liability to you for any claim under these terms is limited to the fees you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim. For free users, this is zero.
- Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Indian law (such as gross negligence or wilful misconduct).
11.Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Citizen Apps harmless from any claim arising out of your misuse of the app, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of someone else's rights via the app.
12.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be communicated in the app and on this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you don't agree to a change, please stop using the app.
13.Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be resolved by the courts in Hyderabad, Telangana (or such Indian jurisdiction as we mutually agree). Before going to court, please email us first — most issues we can resolve in a single conversation.
14.Contact
