Who we are

Mr.Road is built by Citizen Apps, an Indian proprietorship founded in 2022. We make tools for everyday Indian citizens — starting with vehicle owners, expanding to other civic-service categories over time.

We're a small, independent team. We don't take government funding. We're not anyone's product side-bet. We make the apps we want to use ourselves.

What we believe

• India deserves better consumer apps for civic services. Government portals are reliable but hard to use. We bridge the gap with a friendly UI on top.
• You should own your data. We collect the minimum needed. We never sell it. You can take it back any time.
• Be honest about what we are. We're not the government. We're not authorities. We're a tool that helps you do what you could do yourself — faster.
• Make it work on cheap phones with bad networks. Most of our users are on entry-level Android. Our app has to load fast and use little data.

Why "Mr.Road"?

We rebranded from e-Challan to Mr.Road in May 2026 for one simple reason: clarity. The name "e-Challan" sounded like an official government service, which we are not. Mr.Road is our own brand — like Truecaller is for caller ID and CRED is for credit cards. We help with the road, we don't run it.

Existing users keep all their data. The rebrand is on the surface; the underlying app is the same one that served you in 2023, 2024, 2025 — just better.

What's next

Mr.Road v1 (currently live on Play Store) focuses on the core: challan check & pay. Future versions will add RC details (via licensed data partners), insurance comparison (via authorised insurers), document vault, and renewal reminders. Each new feature ships only when we can do it cleanly, legally, and at a price our users can afford.
